Of Garrett County
Donna Sue came to Garrett County in April
2008 to share her story with our volunteers.
She is a delightful speaker, often making
the audience laugh (and sometimes cry), all
the while learning from her vast experience.
Donna Sue has offered her help as our
project progresses, and has been a wealth
of information as we struggle through our
first year as a new organization.

An update on Donna Sue:
Hi All,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Donna Sue
and her mother spent the day with friends and she wanted me to let everyone know how
thankful she is for all the love and support you have provided her during this time.
Donna Sue has her port for the chemo put in on Tuesday, and she had her drainage tube
removed on Monday (or maybe it was the other way around). Her chemo begins this
Thursday, December 4, at 2 p.m. so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she
enters this next phase of her cancer battle. Her spirits are pretty good. She has been
walking daily and eating better, but she will still need all of our support in the months
ahead.
Donna Sue also wanted me to let everyone know how grateful she is and deeply humbled
by the donations that many of you have been able to make. These gifts are able to provide
her with some financial breathing room so that she can focus for now on getting well. If
you have not contributed and are able to, I wanted to remind everyone that they can make
a donation to the following bank:
First State Bank of Adams County
210 Pike Street
Manchester, OH 45144
Checks can be made out to The Donna Sue Groves Caring Account.
I understand that not everyone is able to financially support Donna Sue at this time, and
there are certainly many other ways to support her as you have already been doing.
Prayers, cards, emails, etc. are greatly appreciated. (Mail to: 3324 Germany Hill Road,
Manchester, OH 45144) When I get some breathing room, I am also hoping to work with
some of you to set up a mechanism for art sales and a benefit concert.
Thank you again for all of your kind and generous hearts.
My very best wishes in the season of hope and peace,
Katherine
